Martin is STRUCTeam’s leading designer of composites solutions for marine, renewable and other industries. He contributes his extensive experience of applying experimental and numerical modelling to our clients’ projects
Before joining STRUCTeam in 2011, and in between his teaching and research responsibilities, Martin worked with naval architects Etienne Bertrand and navigator Yves Parlier, as well as gaining hands-on manufacturing experience with Heol Composites and Composites and Atelier L’air du Large (Etienne Bertrand’s shop floor). Martin was one of the scientific advisers for l’Hydroptere, leading to its world speed record above 50kts in 2009. He also advised on the design and build of the smaller, highly successful, L’Hydroptere.ch.
Martin also has extensive research and teaching experience from his time spent at the Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA), Supmeca Institut Superieur de Mecanique de Paris (Supmeca) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the École normale supérieure de Cachan.
