With the continuous growth of wind turbine blades and favourable projections for new installations, the outlook for Pultrusions in the production of high-quality blades is positive. Pultrusions play a pivotal role facilitating longer, larger structures with rapid production times and higher efficiencies. However, recent years have presented a sobering challenge in the form of critical raw material shortages. In this presentation we will address the challenges of today’s composite supply chain and examine the critical themes vital to the industry’s evolution and sustainability. We will examine the future of carbon fibre, encompassing supply chain intricacies, industry reliance, cost implications and OEM/manufacturer expectation. We will also explore future trends and technologies, including the development of resin technologies and their role in improving end of life solutions.
