STRUCTeam assembled PULLWind in 2018 to address the design and manufacturing challenges the wind energy sector was facing. It is a consortium of experienced blade designers and engineers, advanced resin developers and fibre suppliers with strong links to the pultruding equipment market. The collective of companies joined together to promote the availability of robust, ‘off the shelf’ solutions for pultruded sparcaps to blade manufacturers. PULLWind also offers a secure supply chain along with design and manufacturing guidelines to integrate the technology within the client’s process of choice.
In this presentation we highlight how the PULLWind concept minimises performance risk, fast-tracks time to market for the wind energy OEMs, and can reduce the total blade cost by 10%.
