Sporting goods client, Dimond Bikes, design and manufacture an array of radical, triathlon bikes. Amateur and professional cyclists favour their high-performance products alike and can be ridden on the open road and the triathlon world circuit.
Dimond asked STRUCTeam to supply a structural optimisation study to support with the evolution of their ‘Brilliant’ model. The objective was twofold; firstly, to provide the customer with an understanding of complex load paths within the critical chain stay crotch area of the bike and to make basic recommendations with regards to local reinforcement. Secondly, to validate their final laminates. The result is the ‘Marquise’ – a stunning, incredibly lightweight bike launched at the end of 2016.
